Marbella

This  once-poor fishing village has become home and regular vacation destination to some of the wealthiest individuals and celebrities in the world of whom the most notorious aristocratic residents are the Saudi Royal Family.  It is said that when in residence in their Marbella palace, they spend upwards of 5 million € a day.

We toured a small part of the old city on foot (slogging through the rain yet again), winding our way through narrow, cobblestone streets and alleyways.  Despite being in the “poor section”, there was life and colour and a certain energy that made the neighbourhood come alive.

The menu is painted onto ceramic tiles set into the wall.  I guess it doesn't change very often.
